Pirate Float, September 2007

This was a most excellent float even though it was delayed. We couldn’t have asked for any better conditions. We met up at Akers sometime before noon and shuttled. This float included some of the best people I know; Bobby and Jennifer Thomas, Heather, Gloria and Rick and new comers Allan and Cathy(AWESOME new members!!!). We paddled to the same gravel bar we’ve stayed at the last 3 years and setup camp. After we struck camp, we snacked on Bobby and Jennifer’s Banana Rum Cheese Ball dip (think that’s what she called it). I think that Bobby and I could have made a meal of just that. After dinner we all sit round the fire (thanks Allan and Cathy) telling stories of the past. Sunday morning we woke up and stuck camp. I had to paddled out early as reality was calling. Had to be back to town to work by 4:00. From what I understand it everyone else made it out ok. Nevertheless, these are the best of times. On a side note. I don’t think that Heather should be known as ‘Heather the English Pirate Spy’ any longer, she HAS acquired a new name(won’t go there). Gloria is now known as the ‘Wild Banshee Pirate’ and Bobby is now known as ‘Bobby The Valley Pirate’, “DUDE!”.
