JULY MEMBERS MEETING –  July 14th (THURSDAY) •  6:00pm at the Springfield Nature Center • Guest speaker former OMP President Jason Frantz will be presenting info on running the Colorado River in wooden dories, his completion of a project to design and build his own dory, and sharing his recent adventure taking his dory “Hellbender” down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon.

JULY FLOAT –   July 23rd (SATURDAY) • North Fork River (Blair Bridge to Dawt Mill = 7.5 miles) • Meet at Academy Sports parking lot in Springfield, MO by 8am -or- at Blair Bridge by 10am. Please call/text Gary Tombridge at 417.861.6056 if interested.

FLOAT FOR INDEPENDENCE – July 24th (SUNDAY) • Niangua River (Bennett Springs Access to NRO Campground) • Join us as we take a group of special needs kids down the Niangua River for a fun day of paddling, squirt gun fights, and heart warming memories! For more details and to volunteer, please contact Terri Bradley at 417.860.1449.

AUGUST MEMBERS MEETING –  Aug. 11th (THURSDAY) • 6:00pm at the Springfield Nature Center • We will be showing the new documentary, First River, a 50 minute movie released by The Ozark Society documenting the Buffalo National River as our country’s first National River in the 1960’s and the importance of preserving it for future generations.

SEPTEMBER MEMBERS MEETING – Sept. 8th (THURSDAY) • 6:00pm at the Springfield Nature Center • Featuring guest speaker Matt Taylor who will be providing updates on the developments and activities scheduled for Fellows Lake.  This will include: mountain biking, hiking trails, and a sailing club with sailing lessons and races.

SEPTEMBER FLOAT – Sept. 24th (SATURDAY) • Spring River (Dam #3 to Spring River Oaks = 7.5 miles) • Meet at 10am at Mammoth Springs Visitor Center. Take out fee is $7 and costs an additional$7 if you park a car at the takeout. Some will be Camping on Saturday night. CELEBRATE SPRINGFIELD FESTIVITIES @ FELLOWS LAKE – Sept. 25th (SUNDAY) • 10:00am – 2:00pm • OMP will be one of the hosts for this event put on by the City of Springfield. There will be: Hiking, Biking, Kayaks, Food Trucks, etc… This will be a big event with City Utilities running shuttle buses to get people to the venue. OMP needs several volunteers to assist with our tent and kayaking and canoeing activities. • Please text Gary Tombridge at 417.861.6056 if you would like to participate.
